Redondo Beach Pier
Title – Redondo Beach Pier
Photographer name – Alik Griffin
Description of place
This pier is unlike other piers, it loops around and reconnects to the beach forming a half loop. There is a lot of drama in the history of this pier. It’s been battered by several storms and burned back to the waterline in the late 1980s. It’s since been rebuilt and reinforced with concrete but is now much smaller.
Lens – Samyang 14mm f2.8
HDR Software – Photomatix Pro with Lightroom 4
Aperture – F16
Number of exposures – Three
Tripod/handheld – Tripod
Extra processing information:
I typically like to apply all my lens profiles and grain reduction filters before using Photomatix. I’ve noticed it helps cut down some of the strange HDR artifacts and chromatic aberrations.
I’m Los Angeles based Photographer that focuses a lot on HDR beach photography. When not shooting beaches or working my day/night job in advertising as an Editor I travel. I’ve recently started taking photography more serious and am now focusing my attention on a blog http://alikgriffin.com where I discuss photography and share what I’ve been learning.
