Title – Horseshoe Bend, Page, AZ
Photographer – Tod Grubbs – Bee Creek Photography
Technical information
Nikon D800 with the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 lens at 14m, the camera was set to f8 and iso 400, 9 bracked frames. The photos were loaded in LR 4, processed in Photomatics 4.1 then pimped out in onOne Suite 6.1. It was amazing to be standing with in a few feet of this awesome view. It is over 1000 feet down to the Colorado river below and well over 3000 feet wide. The Nikon 14-24 lens at 14mm gives 114 degrees of view and it barley captured the scene.
Bio
Tod Grubbs and Cynthia Hestand of Bee Creek Photography are freelance art / Commercial photographers based in Austin Texas. We photograph Architecture, Travel and Landscapes/Cityscapes. We have been working with new techniques that employ the blending of multiple exposures to render a single image that would be impossible to create using conventional, single-exposure method. A large part of our work has been created using High Dynamic Range (HDR) processing. They are derived from between 3 and 9 different original exposures. This form of processing allows deep shadows and bright highlights to be captured and also accentuates texture, detail resulting in an appealing photograph that is closer to what you can see with your eyes.
